The Thonon Cycling Race is a round of the Label d’Or Trophy organised by the French Cycling Federation.
Set in an idyllic location between Lake Geneva and the Chablais mountains, the Thonon-les-Bains Cycling Race by Ekoi aims to be a friendly early-season preparatory event.
Appreciated for their accessibility, the routes for this 6th edition will be no exception to the rule and should even be a little more accessible than last year’s, with a return to basics! Although the “short” route is longer with the climb up Jambaz, its finish will remain the same with the Col du Feu. The “long” route will focus on the green valley with Jambaz, Saxel, Ruppes, Moises, and Feu as the passes on the menu. The “medium” route will avoid the last two, returning directly from Draillant to Le Lyaud. A touring has been added to the program. Joint departure at the start, refreshments at Col de Jambaz, then a “leisurely” return without any additional elevation gain, perfect for introducing others to cycling.
An important new feature to ensure the safety of the riders is that the times will be neutralized between Le Lyaud and the descent to Thonon.
One thing will not change on the route: the wide choice of refreshments. Savory, sweet, and lots of local specialties such as potato fritters, enough to have a good time for some, enough to regain enough strength to reach the finish line for others.
NB: electric bikes (in touring mode, without classification) are allowed on the Short and Medium courses.
