In an idyllic setting between Lake Geneva and the Chablais mountains, the Thonon-les-Bains Cycling Race is intended to be a friendly event to prepare for the start of the season.
Appreciated for their accessibility, the courses for this 5th edition will be no exception to the rule and should even be a little more accessible than the previous year. The main new feature is a start in the Pays de Gavot, with its views over Lake Geneva. Col de Jambaz and Col Cou will complete the programme for the medium route and Plaine Joux Saxe the programme for the long route… ‘as usual’! For the third time, the short course will remain on the agenda for less hardy riders. A great sporting challenge!
Finally, one thing won’t change on the course: the wide choice of refreshment stations. Savoury, sweet and plenty of local specialities such as potato fritters, enough for some to have a good time, and for others to regain enough strength to reach the finish.
The Thonon Cycling Race is a round of the Label d’Or Trophy of the French Cycling Federation.
NB: e-bikes (in trekking mode, no classification) are allowed on the Short and Medium route.
